Pound Papers:
Annual Report, 1933-34 |
8 |
Jere Madison
Pound and Philip Weltner |
Pound's only
annual report for GSWC. Highlights are as follows: -GSWC has highest rate of
enrollment of Georgia students than comparable Georgia liberal arts schools,
like Weslyan and Agnes Scott. -Pound feels the school is tapped out, and
needs to grow. Finances play a big role in expansion. -GSWC has a
well-balanced faculty, but needs stronger science courses. -Requests for a
dining hall and auditorium were approved. -GSWC will meet the budget
(actually is under-budget) as of June 30. -A new home economics course is in
the works for 1935-36. It will take at least a year to develop a syllabus
and acquire equipment. |
