Powell's annual
report for 1926-27. Sections include: general, the college and its
territory, the high school, faculty matters, on joining the southern
association of colleges, summer school, financial matters/budgets. Of note
are that the high school class of '27 was the last to graduate from the
College and Powell's recommendation that the College join the Southern
Association of Colleges. The Board endorsed both, and also resolved that no
new full professor or dept. head be employed without a master's degree. The
Board adjourned to Converse Hall for the unveiling of a portrait of W.L.
Converse. NOTE: there are three pages belonging to this annual report that
are bound a few pages apart. They are accounts receivable/payable and other
budget-related pages. Other minutes contain "usual" business (funding,
construction, faculty). |
