Powell's annual
report for 1928-29. Sections include: general affairs, financial, faculty,
budget, summer school, and needs of the college. Of particular note is the
Board's vote to remove Wood as dean. Wood is kept as professor. Other Board
minutes concern "usual" business (funding, budget, faculty). Of note in the
minutes is the death of H.Y. Tillman, trustee, Jan. 1, 1929, after 2 years
of service. Also of note are minutes from July 10, 1929. The Executive
Committee is concerned that the Legislature's bill to abolish the school's
board of trustees will be detrimental to progress (forerunner to the Ga.
State University System). |
