Powell's annual
report for 1930-31. Sections include: general affairs, the plant, summer
school, financial matters (1930-31 and 1931-32 budgets), faculty, and needs
of the college. Of note is the College's joining the American Association of
Teachers Colleges as a fully accredited liberal arts and teachers college.
It was invited to apply for admission to the American Association of
Colleges. Board minutes are inflamed with issues on finances. On Sep. 2,
1921, Powell issues a President's Statement on the finances of the school
and how little the legislature has funded it. He is forced to "slash" some
budget areas. On Sep. 26, the Executive Committee makes a resolution
regarding payment of the College's debt and balancing finances. |
