102 | Sling the Biscuit (second novel) | Sheba Sookie Winnie |
Sowell, GA deep south where Georgia borders Florida | First person narrative of a young girl developing. The title is derived from a Southern childhood game in which a large child slings the smaller children, releasing them where they must remain in their slung positions. The winner is the participant who manages, regardless of extreme discomfort, to maintain the position for the greatest length of time. Thus, it is with the inherent condition of prejudice and unacceptance. The descendants are the recipients of the attitudes and behaviors of their ancestors, the most arrogant and stubborn maintaining the inherited attitudes for the duration. | 272 | Sling the Biscuit -Hand written manuscript first notebook | 12 | 1 | 1985 |
