Sowell, GA in 1960's. | Two
Shade of Morning is a patchwork of relationships in patterns of
triangles and squares, woven in shades of darkness and light. In the
cataclysmic cadence of the Sixties, manipulation clashes with innocence
as Sybil Sapp invades the wholesome relationship between three friends:
Earlene, P.W. and Robert Dale. Earlene marries P.W. in what she terms
"a toss up" between him and Robert Dale. Sybil marries Robert Dale on the rebound. Sybil knowing of her imminent death, sets about the business of recasting her misspent life by hastily gaining the respect of the southeast Georgia community. Envy and respect are synonymous for Sybil, whose history of debauchery is revealed posthumously by Aunt Birdie. |
