Description
This clipping continues the article that began in section 6.5, but it continues on page 470 when the previous entry was from page 424, but this is noted under the title. In this portion, the first encounters with Native Americans on the trail are outlined as well as the main food options that were available to the travelers and the lack of clean water thereof. There are excerpts from Delia Thompson Brown's diary. Death and disease on the trail is discussed.
