- Description
- Henry M. Teller was making a plan to colonize Oklahoma lands and Payne rushed to Congress to petition to make his settlement official. The army was getting tired of Payne and the costs to expel him and his members became heavy. Their plan for Payne and other Boomers' expelling backfired. He continued trying to promote settlement in Oklahoma. He suddenly died of a heart seizure surprising everyone. The movement died out until 1888 when Murdok finally saw the potential for opening the country to the south.
