Description
The Cherokee Nation created the New Echota as a form of government for the Indian Nation. It was created on November 12.1825 and spread across northern Georgia into western North Carolina, eastern Tennesee, and northeastern Alabama. This new form of government was inspired by the United States to form a new republic of control. They named it Echota after Chota an old Indian town. Through the years syllabi were created for the Cherokee which led to the creation of a print shop in New Echota, and the publicationof the Cherokee Phoneix newspaper.
