- New Echota is located in Calhoun Georgia, and is the Capitol of the Cherokee Indian Nation from the years 1825-1838. Sequoyah along with 900 Cherokee Indians participated in the Creek War. A museum, print shop, and other historical buildings are available for tours. Hours of the park are listed, as well as the days they are closed, they give directions and the location of New Echota.
