- Trail of Tears history and the Cherokee struggles are turned into a drama performance at the Cherokee Heritage Center. This season there will be new dances, costumes, and cast members. It is one of the longest-running open-air theatres in the U.S. The purpose of the drama which was originally opened by the Cherokee National Historic Society was to preserve the culture and history of the Cherokees.
