- Teesee Guess was the son of George (Sequoyah) and Sallie Guess, born in the Cherokee Nation. His first wife U-Ti-Yu and his second wife Rebecca Bowels, was the daughter of Chief Bowels who was a part of the Texas Cherokees. Tesse, his father, and Oo-no-lah (The Worm) went on a journey west in search of the Lost Cherokees. They conferred with some Comanche Indians and served as the delegate for the Texas Cherokee to the Comanchees at Comanche Park, Texas. His brother-in-law was John Porum Davis, they both served together in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He later died and was buried in 'the old Cherokee burial ground on the hill beside the old Dutch Creek Trail two and a half miles west of the old home place".
