Description
Echo-Hawk Indians estimate that there are over 600,000 Indian remains in private and public collections. They feel that displaying Indian remains disrupts the spirits of those who have died. Dan Wildcat feels that it is important to respect Indian culture, values, and religious beliefs. Twenty-two states allow tribal leaders to reburry Indian remains found in unmarked graves. Some archeologists and scientists disagree with the Indians taking the skeletons from museum collections.
