Description
Federal Aid has backfired on Indian Reservations. Tractors loaded with food traveled to many villages to hand out food marked "not to be sold or exchanged". Freland Dog Skin and Delbert Cloud two unemployed tribal members were some of the people picking up these commodities; then met with a white man and sold their goods for 15 dollars and bought alcohol. Welfare is given out through the Bureau of Indian Affairs's General Assistant Programs. Aid to families with dependent children, hundreds more live off of Social Security or Veterans Administration benefits. Standing Rock has the most Indians who rely on Welfare.
