- Edward Sloan was the son of William and Deborah Starr. He was born in the Goingsnake District of the Cherokee Nation. Once he grew up and married they lived on a farm. The farm was located at Honey Creek, Cowskin Prairie which was between Grove Oklahoma, and Southwest City, Missouri.
