Description
Continuation of the Cherokee Nation section of the article. Besides the Osage Treaty, there was the Treaty of New Echota. This was a treaty signed by the United States and the Eastern Cherokees. This treaty led to the removal of Cherokee Indians from Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. The Cherokees were forced to relocate to Indian Territory which the journey became known as the Trail of Tears.
