Description
Three Cherokee men Major Ridge, John Ridge, and Elias Boudinot signed a treaty in 1835 calling for the tribes removal to Indian Territory and due to "blood law" they were assasinated by a small band of Cherokee Indians. They were sentenced to blood law because they disposed lands belonging to the Cherokee Nation. The news article then does a brief biography on Major Ridge and John Ridge.
