Joyce Ann Joyce, "70

Joyce Ann Joyce, "70, is professor of English and associate director of the Gwendolyn Brooks Center at Chicago State University in Chicago, Illinois. The 1993 recipient of the George Kent Award for Literary Criticism, Dr. Joyce teaches courses in African-American literature.

Among her recent publications is a collection of essays, Warriors, Shamans, and Priests: Afrocentric Literary Criticism (Third World Press); and "Cultural Mulattoes and the Dissolution of the Black Artist's Social and Political Responsibility," an article in Imhotep, Temple University Center for African American Studies.
