Quick Task Reference

Create a Community

  1. New > Community
  2. Choose parent level
  3. Complete required fields
  4. Save and run QC

Create a Collection

  1. New > Collection
  2. Choose parent community
  3. Complete details
  4. Save and configure roles

Add an Item

  1. New > Item
  2. Choose collection
  3. Upload files
  4. Enter metadata
  5. Deposit and run QC

Edit an Item

  1. Locate item
  2. Edit metadata and/or files
  3. Save
  4. Re-check display and access

Glossary

  • Community: high-level organizational grouping in Vtext
  • Collection: set of related items under a community
  • Item: individual metadata record with one or more files
  • Bitstream: file attached to an item
  • Workflow: review/processing path before or after publication
  • Template item: default metadata model for new items
